Cardi B Apologizes To Martin Luther King Jr’s Daughter For Controversial Skit

Cardi B found herself in hot water after a skit of her playing Martin Luther King Jr’s wife Coretta Scott King leaked, and their daughter, Dr. Bernice King, has expressed how tasteless she found the video. However, it seems Cardi has reached out to Dr. King and apologized, and the two could be engaging in a further discussion soon. The skit, titled ‘The Real Housewives of the Civil Rights Movement,’ leaked on TMZ, and appeared to be a few years old. It was a segment from the show Off the Rip, hosted by Rip Michaels of Wild ‘N Out. In the skit, Cardi appears alongside women portraying Rosa Parks and the wives of Rev. Jesse Jackson and Malcolm X, and pokes fun at MLK Jr’s alleged infidelity during the Civil Rights Movement. Dr. Bernice King did not take kindly to the skit, which coincidentally was leaked on the same day as the 55th anniversary of the March on Washington and MLK’s famous “I Have a Dream” speech. Cardi didn’t respond publicly herself; however it does appear that she reached out to Dr. King to express her apologies. Dr. King again took to Twitter, thanking the artist by saying:  “Thank you, @iamcardib, for reaching out to me and apologizing for the skit that aired on @TMZ. I look forward to talking with you soon.”
