Rapper Mick Jenkins announced a title and a timeframe his new release while premiering his new single “Bruce Banner.” Said Jenkins about his new album, “it’s going to be called Pieces of a Man,” he revealed. “And it’s coming this fall.” Further details of that upcoming full-length have not been revealed by Jenkins, but you can now stream “Bruce Banner” below or here via the streaming platform of your choice.
The 2018 Mala Luna Festival in San Antonio revealed its lineup Monday, August 6, and those among this year’s main events are Cardi B and Tyler The Creator. The festival is scheduled for Oct. 27-28 at Nelson Wolff Stadium. This will be Cardi’s first performance since giving birth to her baby girl, Kulture, in July. Two weeks ago, the rapper dropped out of Bruno Mars’ forthcoming 24K Magic world tour, as well as the ONEMusic Fest, to continue recuperating from her pregnancy. Mala Luna’s lineup additionally includes Rich The Kid, Lil Baby, Gunna, Shoreline Mafia, Rico Nasty and Tierra Whack. Tickets are on special now at the festival’s site.
Fresh off their releases of Astroworld and Stay Dangerous,Travis Scott and YG have teamed up with DJ Mustard to unleash a new single titled “Dangerous World.” The single was announced via Mustard’s Instagram account and features a verse from both rappers and a melodic chorus from Scott. Dallas based rapper C Struggs has died at the age of 32, following a battle with cancer. The MC was reportedly diagnosed with metastatic cancer, and was recently given about eight weeks to live. He sadly succumbed to the disease on Friday, Aug. 3. Sources close to the rapper say Struggs was in good spirits and still putting in work in the time leading up to his passing. Struggs had been making a name for himself in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. In 2016, he linked up with Rick Ross for the track, “Do It,” which is possibly his most notable cut to date. Upon hearing the news, Ross took to Instagram to share his condolences.
R. Kelly’s manager, James Mason, has a warrant out for his arrest in Henry County, Georgia over an alleged death threat. Mason allegedly threatened to kill Timothy Savage, the father to Joycelyn Savage, one of Kelly’s girlfriends. Last year, Timothy told police and the media that his daughter was Kelly’s sex slave. Joycelyn denied those allegations and has since been seen out with Kelly. Mr. Savage went to the police back in May and reported that Mason threatened him over the phone; Mason denies the allegations but the police are looking to arrest him for terroristic threats and acts.
