A coroner has ruled rapper Mac Miller’s death an accidental overdose due to a combination of drugs and alcohol. A Los Angeles County coroner’s report released Monday named the 26-year-old Miller’s cause of death as “mixed toxicity,” saying cocaine, alcohol and the powerful opioid fentanyl were found in his system. Paramedics found Miller unresponsive in his Los Angeles home on Sept. 7 and declared him dead soon after. An autopsy was performed Sept. 10. Miller spoke publicly about his depression and past struggles with addiction and drug use.

Tory Lanez has entered the Billboard 200 at No. 4 with his latest project, Love Me Now?  The bulk of the project’s listens came from streaming, earning 48,000 streaming equivalent units which translate to 62.5 million on-demand audio streams for the tracks on the album. Tory’s last two albums, Memories Don’t Die and I Told You each also logged a spot in the top 5 of the 200 charts at No. 3 and No. 4, respectively. Filling out the rest of the chart after Tory Lanez’s debut are Lil Wayne’s Carter V, holding steady at No. 5 with 52,000 units while Lil Baby and Gunna hold up at No. 6 with 49,000 units. Drake’s Scorpion comes through at No. 7 with 49,000 units as well. Future & Juice WRLD’s WRLD ON DRUGS slides from No. 2 to No. 8 with 45,000 units while Travis Scott’s Astroworld ends up at No. 9 with 45,000 units. And finally at No. 10, you’ll find Post Malone’s beerbongs & bentleys still holding strong.

Iggy Azalea has parted ways with Island Records, just nine months after leaving Def Jam for Island. Iggy has revealed the she is “officially unsigned” and looking forward to releasing new music independently. Azalea wrote on Twitter: “I’m officially unsigned! Wild you spend so long trying to get IN a record deal… never thought I’d be so elated to be OUT of one, now I’m free to release whatever kinda music I like, whenever I’d like woooo! (sic)” Azalea also wrote that she is not in any rush to release new music, as she wants to ensure she is making quality music. The split from Island comes just one week after Iggy admitted she wanted to break away from the label and take full ownership of her career, though she insisted she did not have any major problems with Island.

After recently announcing he’s “distancing” himself from politics, Kanye West donated $126K to Chicago mayoral candidate Amara Enyia. The rapper said he was stepping away from the political scene after Candace Owens used the rapper’s name to push her “Blexit” movement. However according to sources, West donated $126,460 to Chicago Mayoral candidate Amara Enyia’s campaign. This marks the second donation ‘Ye has made within the past two weeks. Yeezy previously donated $73,540 to Friends of Amara Enyia which was the exact amount she needed to pay off fines from a previously mayoral bid. Kanye’s support for the Chicago mayoral candidate came shortly after Chance The Rapper held a press conference at Chicago’s City Hall to publicly endorse Amara Enyia while shutting down rumors that he was going to run for mayor.
