For several months, rumors that Drake and Future were working on new material have been floating around. Now there is more evidence that something from the duo is coming very soon. 

Drake didn’t drop much music last year, but rather was involved in several major film and television projects that were released to critical acclaim. Among them was the long-awaited new season of Top Boy which initially aired in the early 2010s before getting canceled after its second season. Drake brought it back for a 10-episode third season on Netflix this past fall, and since then many have wondered if it was coming back for a fourth season. 

LL Cool J announced that he and Q-Tip of A Tribe Called Quest fame are working together on an album for Def Jam. LL — born James Todd Smith — shared the news of the album via Twitter, with the caption: “I just started recording new music produced by my lil bro,” with a mention of Q-Tip’s Twitter handle.  LL followed the tweet with, “I’m putting this new music out on @defjam.”

French Montana’s song “Writing on the Wall” charted on Spotify this past week, however, one Twitter user believes that the rapper and his team are faking their streams.  The single features Post Malone, Cardi B, and Jamaican pop star, Rvssian.  It debuted on September 27 of last year but only spent five weeks on the Billboard Top 200. 

Rapper DaBaby – real name Jonathan Kirk- was questioned by authorities and taken into police custody on New Year’s Eve during a trip to Miami, FL . The rapper had traveled to Miami for a scheduled appearance at the a popular local nightclub called the Cafe Iguana Pines. However, a conflict with the venue’s promoters led to a physical altercation. A police report from Miami Dade Police Department says that although the club had promised Kirk $30,000 to perform, the rapper claimed that he had only received $20,000. When Kirk began to demand the rest of his payment, both parties began arguing loudly until the argument escalated into a physical fight. Kirk allegedly struck one of the promoters, and his team allegedly put hands on the other.
