Americans’ #1 Word to Describe 2026 Is “Stressful”

If you’ve felt a little overwhelmed this year, you’re not alone.

A new survey found the top word Americans are using to describe 2026 is “stressful.”  And in a close second was the word “challenging.”

The average person says they’ve dealt with two major unexpected life changes this year alone.  (Don’t even get us started on the cost of living.)

And in a separate study, they also found one in three Americans say they’re currently going through an existential crisis.  With Gen Z feeling it the most.

But there are some things you can do to combat this feeling.  Taking a walk, limiting news alerts, listening to music, and spending time with friends can make a real difference.
