A Police Chase Ends When the Guy Tries to Hide at a Ham Raffle

Well this is just about the folksy-est place a police chase could end.  The cops in Avon, New York tried to pull over 31-year-old John Palermo of Rochester, New York on Saturday night.  But he was HIGH, so he took off.

The cops chased him as he drove across a bunch of people’s lawns, then finally parked outside of a fire station where a ham raffle was going on.  That’s right, a HAM RAFFLE.

John ran inside to try to blend in with the people who were there to win themselves a delicious Easter ham.  Unfortunately for him, an off-duty cop was one of those ham hopefuls and grabbed him.

John was charged with driving while impaired by drugs, criminal mischief, reckless endangerment, and fleeing from police.  There’s no word on who won the ham.

(Here’s his mugshot.)
