People are obsessed with checking out nudes online: CHRISTMAS TREE NUDES.
There’s a “naked Christmas tree” trend going viral on social media, which is basically what it sounds like: A tree, without any ornaments, decorations, tinsel, and sometimes without even lights.
(Cue the Christmas Tree Voiceover: “At this point I’m thinking to myself, what am I even doing here?”)
A common look is a bare Christmas tree, sparsely lit with soft white lights.
It’s a “modern,” “minimalist” thing, which has been picked up by various influencers and celebrities, including Julianne Moore, Michelle Pfeiffer, Victoria Beckham, and Khloé Kardashian.
People who like it argue that it’s a “less is more” thing, where you can enjoy the feeling and “clean” look of the tree, without the clutter, the over-stimulation, the clashing colors, and the kitsch.
It’s supposed to be “elegant, peaceful, streamlined, and stress-free.”
However, others say it looks unfinished, even joyless, and maybe a little intimidating, if it looks like an animal might jump out of it like it’s outside.
This isn’t a brand new thing. It’s been slowly growing in popularity, and some retailers have noticed, and are offering nearly-nude pre-lit trees, with neutral decorations that appeal to people wanting a cleaner look.
(Here’s a nearly-nude one, with a lot of lights. Here’s another take on it, here’s a woman talking about it . . . here’s a person joking about their “nude” tree. And another. You get it.)
@missgreedyshome This fills my heart with pure happiness 🎄♥️ we always have a naked tree for one evening before decorating it, i LOVE a naked tree!🥹🌲 #christmas #itschristmas #christmastree #christmasdecor #christmastreedecorating
