A Poll Found if You’re Under 30, You Probably Suck at Reading Clocks

This is in no way a knock on your intelligence.  But if you’re under 30, you probably suck at reading clocks.

A new study found MOST people under 30 can’t look at an old-school clock and tell what time it is right away.  It takes a few seconds.  We’re talking about the kind with hour and minute hands.

95% of Boomers and over 80% of Gen X’ers can look at one and “instantly” know what time it is.  But barely more than half of Millennials can.  And by the time you get to Gen Z, only 43% can look at a clock and know.

It takes a while for most Zoomers to figure it out.  45% said a few seconds, 6% said more time than that, and another 6% said they’re not sure, or didn’t know what an “analog” clock was.

Obviously, most Gen Z’ers just check the time on their phone now.  But other types of clocks aren’t going away completely.

56% of Americans still own an alarm clock, 54% have a wall clock, 33% have a smart watch, 11% have a “free-standing” or grandfather clock, and 7% of us own a pocket watch.

A large percentage of those pocket watch people also own a top hat and just got back from Burning Man.
