It’s Allergy Awareness Month, and you might want to pop a pill before you visit any of THESE cities right now.
The Asthma and Allergy Foundation ranked the top 100 cities in America based on how much coughing, sneezing, and wheezing they can cause. And the worst city for allergies is Wichita, Kansas.
They based it on three things: Pollen counts, sales of allergy meds, and how easy it is to get an appointment with an allergy specialist.
The 10 most challenging places to have allergies are: Wichita, Kansas, New Orleans, Oklahoma City, Tulsa, Memphis, Little Rock, Arkansas, Raleigh, North Carolina, Richmond, Virginia, Greenville, South Carolina, and Greensboro, North Carolina.
At the other end of the list, the BEST city for allergies is Boston. Pollen counts are typically lower, and it’s fairly easy to see a doctor.
The 10 best cities for allergies are: Boston, Salt Lake City, Akron, Ohio, San Diego, Cleveland, Boise, Provo, Utah, Madison, Wisconsin, Ogden, Utah, and Denver, Colorado.
(Everything’s coming up Utah lately. That “best” list had three cities in Utah, and it was also just named the best state in America by “U.S. News & World Report” last week.)
