Everyone knows someone who turns into a kid again during Halloween, and NO ONE can resist Halloween candy, no matter how old they are, but does that also apply to Easter?
According to a new survey, 66% of American adults believe THEY deserve an Easter basket just as much as children do. And 36% of adults secretly admit to eating their kids’ Easter candy without telling them.
They didn’t say what they’re eating specifically, but it’s much easier to get away with a few jellybeans or maybe a Reese’s egg or two, than one of those giant chocolate bunnies. They’ll definitely notice that being gone.
Here are a few more stats from the survey:
1. 28% of adults buy Easter candy specifically for themselves, not just for kids.
2. 27% of adults have competed with their own kids to find Easter eggs first, and 18% admit they’ve cheated to win.
3. 34% of adults are likely to buy Easter candy in bulk, and hide some of it for themselves, or even build their own separate Easter basket.
4. Dark chocolate treats (46%), peanut butter candy (48%), and chocolate eggs (44%) are adults’ favorite Easter candies. And about half the people in the survey claim Easter candy tastes better than Halloween candy.
5. The Easter celebration doesn’t stop on Sunday. 64% of adults plan to buy candy on sale the day after Easter, 59% say their haul lasts the full week, and 41% admit to taking Easter Monday off work. (Due to a stomach ache?)
