This is appropriate today: In a new poll, people were asked for their opinions on various days of the week, and not surprisingly, the least popular day by far was Monday.
Only 42% of employed Americans have a favorable opinion of Mondays.
Each passing day of the week got a jump in favorability, culminating on Saturday. 85% of working people love Saturdays. And Sundays are only a slight drop-off at 78%. (And that’s probably because of the late-day dread of feeling the Monday stalking you in the background.)
The interesting thing is that Mondays are ranked last for every group, even RETIRED PEOPLE.
Just 69% of retired people say they’re cool with Mondays, which is much higher than employed people, but it’s their most hated day too.
77% of retired people enjoy Tuesdays, 77% enjoy Wednesdays, and 77% enjoy Thursdays. They’re all exactly the same. So maybe there’s something to that idea of “every day feeling the same” for retirees.
Since it’s a Monday, let’s talk about the good news:
People were also asked about their favorite MONTHS, and everyone’s least favorite are January and February. March is a noticeable step up, leading into people’s favorite months of the year.
Overall, October is #1. 78% of people like Octobers. May (76%) is second, followed by April (74%), June (73%), September (73%)M, July (69%), and August (68%).
