Five Random Facts for Tuesday

Here are some random facts for you.

1.  Dick Van Dyke recently turned 100 years old, and this fact puts that into context:  Babe Ruth hit 405 home runs while he was alive.

2.  80% of the pretzels in the U.S. are made in Pennsylvania.

3.  Pop-Tarts’ sales went up EVERY YEAR from 1982 to 2014, and it’s possible they’re still going up.  2014 is just the last time Kellogg’s announced any Pop-Tarts sales stats. (In 2023, Kellogg’s became Kellanova, and just recently it was acquired by Mars, Inc.)

4.  Since the NFL draft began, 41% of the number one picks have been quarterbacks.  That’s 37 out of 90.  It’s been even more popular in recent years, with 21 of the past 28 #1 picks being QBs.

5.  It would take five minutes to knock someone out by holding a rag soaked with chloroform under their nose, not two seconds like it does in movies.
