A Cat Survived 100 Miles Clinging to the Roof of a Car, So the Family Brought Him Along for an Epic Vacation

How many lives does a cat lose, per mile, clinging to a car?

A family in Pennsylvania went on a road trip last month, and 100 miles in, they pulled over for gas.  And that’s when they realized that their cat “Ray Ray” was along for the ride.  But he was NOT hiding inside the van.

He was clinging to the ROOF.  (???)  They had one of those soft cargo carriers on the roof, and Ray Ray was somehow holding onto the fabric of it, while they were speeding down the highway at 70 miles per hour.

The family couldn’t believe it.  Ray Ray was unfazed, so they decided to just continue on and bring him along for an epic vacation, which included running a marathon in New Hampshire, and then driving to New York to see “Hamilton”.

Of course, they needed supplies.  So they went to a pet store and picked up a litter box, food, and one of those cat backpacks.

They shared Ray Ray’s vacation on social media, and it sure seems like Ray Ray did not regret his decision.

For what it’s worth, Ray Ray is an indoor-outdoor cat, and they DID have to sneak him into their Airbnb, which technically didn’t know they’d have a cat with them.

(Here’s the video they posted explaining what happened, and there are additional posts, here and here.)
