It’s a hack that’s been circulated online since at least 2021, so it’s not a new idea. But his video blew up because he did it with a bunch of DISHES in there. Knives, forks, plates, and cups.
Even without dishes, a lot of people think there’s gotta be some cross-contamination going on. But others think it’s just practical and smart.
His Crocs came out spotless, so it does work. But on top of the hygiene thing, there’s another reason you might not want to do it. He said his Crocs shrunk a little bit from the heat.
It’s not clear if it was the hot water or heated drying that did it. But most dishwashers don’t have a setting for cold water only.
