The One Stretch You Should Do If You Have a Desk Job

There’s a doctor who’s popular on YouTube named Phoenyx Austin, she specializes in sports medicine, and she says there’s one stretch you should be doing at work every day if you have a desk job.

It’s a basic yoga move called a prayer squat.  And ideally, you’d get up and do it once an hour.  But it’s not the type of thing you’ll want to do in tight pants or a skirt.  So even doing it at home after work can help.

Here’s what to do . . .

Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart and angled out a little bit.  Then slowly bend your knees, and squat down as low as you can without lifting your heels off the ground.

It might feel weird at first, but it shouldn’t be too uncomfortable.  And if it’s painful, stop doing it.  You’re also supposed to keep your back as straight as possible.

You also put your hands together like you’re praying, and press your elbows against the insides of your knees.  Or if you can’t balance, put one hand on the floor in front of you.

Apparently it’s good because it strengthens your legs, opens your hips, stretches your Achilles and your groin at the same time, and can help with lower back pain.
