Radiohead tickets went on sale Friday, but within minutes EVERY show was sold out. A lot of fans were frustrated because Ticketmaster’s system didn’t even give them the chance to get any.
Most people saw a message that said: “Searching for tickets, sit tight.” It also advised you not to refresh, because you’d lose your place in line. In the end, a lot of fans didn’t get through, and the tickets were gone.
Singer Thom Yorke saw fans venting online, and so he Tweeted, “I’m as [effed] off as you are. And [I] am only human.”
Of course, a lot of tickets will be scalped, and they’ve already been popping up on secondary ticket sites like Stubhub, but the band says you should be careful if you go that route, because some venues won’t let you in if the name on the ticket doesn’t match your ID.
They also Tweeted, “We hope you understand the need to put such measures in place to give more fans a chance to get to the shows.”
If you’re thinking of buying a ticket from a secondary sites PLEASE PLEASE carefully check the original rules of the venue concerned…
