Rihanna And Other Artists Sign Open Letter Urging For Police Reform In NYC

Rihanna, Ariana Grande, Billie Eilish, Justin Bieber, Post Malone, Meek Mill, the Jonas Brothers and many more are joining the call for reform of policing in New York. The artists signed an open letter asking New York legislators to repeal section 50-A of New York State’s Civil Rights Law. The statute currently keeps police personnel files confidential and basically out of the public’s reach.

TV Show COPS Canceled After 32 Seasons

Paramount Network has cancelled the long-running reality police TV series COPS, in light of George Floyd’s murder and the ensuing nationwide protests over police brutality.
The 33rd season of Cops had been set to premiere on Monday, but the episode was pulled by Paramount. In a statement, the network said there are no “current or future plans” for new episodes of the series.
Paramount has broadcast Cops since 2013 after picking it up from Fox, where it had run for 25 seasons.

Daniel Radcliffe Responds To J.K. Rowling’s Controversial Transgender Comments

Actor Daniel Radcliffe is speaking out regarding the controversy surrounding “Harry Potter” author J.K. Rowling and her recent tweets that drew backlash from the LGBTQ+ community. Rowling came under fire over the weekend for taking issue with an op-ed using the phrase “people who menstruate,” and seemingly poked fun at the non-gendered language. “I’m sure there used to be a word for those people. someone help me out. wumben? wimpund? woomud?” she wrote.
