Lil Uzi Vert celebrated their 31st birthday by unexpectedly releasing a new EP, Maverick “Almost Forever,” giving fans an unannounced collection of fresh music after weeks of speculation about new material.
The eight-track project first appeared on select streaming services before expanding to major platforms, catching listeners by surprise and quickly generating widespread reaction across social media. The release arrives just weeks after the Philadelphia rapper hinted during a Summer Smash performance that another full-length album was on the way.
The new EP serves as Lil Uzi Vert’s first major solo release since Eternal Atake 2 and keeps momentum building toward the next studio album teased earlier this summer. The birthday release coincided with an eventful weekend for Lil Uzi Vert. After being forced to miss a scheduled Lollapalooza performance because of reported travel complications, the rapper later made an appearance during Major Lazer’s set at the Chicago festival. The unexpected performance helped cap off a day that also included the EP’s arrival, giving fans both new music and a live appearance despite the earlier setback.
